They are safe to use for food, and as with all handmade items, I would recommend washing by hand.

I hand make everything by hand in my home studio, so there are slight variations in the size, shape and colour of each one, making them unique.
Each one is made by hand so please expect slight variations such as unevenness, glazing pinholes or bubbles, these things of course just add to the charm of it being hand-crafted.
An unglazed base which is rough to the touch so please be careful when putting on countertops, so that you don't get scratches
